                         Tuesday, July 3, 2018

Mr. YOUNG of Iowa. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize and
congratulate Allan P. Duhn for his 50 years of service as a funeral
director in Griswold, Iowa. Allan was recently honored at the 138th
Annual Iowa Funeral Directors Association Convention.
Allan said that he was influenced by his hometown funeral directors
and he witnessed the professional services they provided to their
communities. He attended the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science
(Gupton Jones College) in Dallas, Texas, and worked for funeral homes
in Spirit Lake and Exira, Iowa. In 1970, he purchased the Wagley
Funeral Home in Griswold, Iowa. Today, the funeral home is known as the
Reiken-Duhn Funeral Home of Griswold.
I commend and congratulate Allan P. Duhn for his many years of
dedicated and devoted service to Griswold, Iowa and the surrounding
area. Allan and his staff have a reputation for making a difference by
helping and serving others in time of need. It is with great honor that
I recognize him today. I know that my colleagues in the House of
Representatives join me in applauding his service in the funeral
industry and I wish him and his family continued success in the future.
