Amendment sought to abolish within 2 years all elevator operator positions for automated elevators used by the House of Representatives. \ A point of order was sustained against the amendment on the grounds that it violated clause 2 of rule XXI in that it proposed to change existing law and constituted legislation in an appropriations bill.


An amendment to prohibit the filling of any vacancy that occurs in elevator operator positions for automatic elevators, and to eliminate all elevator operator positions for automatic elevators two years after enactment of the bill.
