work on behalf of non-profit and charitable organizations, including
Detroit's Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
Mr. Ferrell began as a volunteer at the Charles H. Wright Museum,
where he proved himself to be engaged and enthusiastic in taking on new
tasks and responsibilities. He was hired and rose through the ranks,
ultimately serving as the museum's Vice-President for Public Programs
and Community Engagement. Mr. Ferrell worked on a number of projects
and founded the museum's Liberation Film Series, which comprises film
screenings, panel discussions, book readings and signings, and lectures
to promote awareness, critical thinking, and informed activism. In
short, during his tenure at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African
American History, Charles Ferrell has done an outstanding job of
fostering cultural exchange.
Over the years, Mr. Ferrell has worked tirelessly to educate the
community by creating awareness about the countless achievements and
contributions of African-Americans. Please join me in recognizing his
fine example.
