                         Tuesday, July 16, 2019

Mrs. LURIA. Madam Speaker, I rise today to honor and celebrate the
100th birthday of Bill Wills of Virginia Beach. Bill served our nation
faithfully with ``The Big Red One,'' a combined arms division in the
U.S. Army, and is a survivor of the D-Day Normandy landing. Before the
D-Day landing, he traveled all over the world and made landings in
Africa and in Sicily. After returning from the war, Bill joined the New
York City Police Department. He served many years with the mounted
police and then retired in Virginia Beach with his wife of 65 years.
Bill Wills' courageous dedication to his country, community, and
family brings great honor to our district. I am proud to recognize his
health and the many years of wisdom he has offered our community and
America.
