                            HON. KEVIN BRADY

                                of texas

                    in the house of representatives

                      Thursday, December 13, 2018

Mr. BRADY of Texas. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize Thomas G.
Hungar for his dedicated service to the House of Representatives and
specifically to the Committee on Ways and Means.
Mr. Hungar had a storied legal career before becoming General Counsel
to the House in 2016. He quickly became a trusted advisor to House
Members, Officers, and staff on a variety of legal issues, and he has
vigorously defended the institutional prerogatives of the House.
Of special importance to the Committee on Ways and Means, Mr. Hungar
greatly assisted our Members and staff in fulfilling the Committee's
important constitutional oversight role. His expertise and guidance in
connection with the Committee's investigative and oversight activities,
as well as its interactions with the Executive Branch, have been
invaluable.
The Committee has benefited greatly from Mr. Hungar's counsel and
litigation expertise. Mr. Hungar served the House with distinction, and
he will be greatly missed. On behalf of the many Members of the
Committee on Ways and Means, and the Committee staff, I say thank you.
We extend to him our very best wishes.
