        MEASURES PLACED ON THE CALENDAR--H.R. 4800 AND H.R. 4823

  Mr. REID. Mr. President, I understand the following bills are at the 
desk and have been read for the first time, H.R. 4800 and H.R. 4823.
  The ACTING PRESIDENT pro tempore. The Senator is correct.
  Mr. REID. I ask unanimous consent that it be in order, en bloc, for 
these bills to receive a second reading, and I then object to any 
further consideration of this legislation at this time.
  The ACTING PRESIDENT pro tempore. Without objection, it so ordered.
  The clerk will report the bills by title for the second time.
  The legislative clerk read as follows:

       A bill (H.R. 4800) to repeal the sunset of the Economic 
     Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 with respect 
     to the expansion of the adoption credit and adoption 
     assistance programs.
       A bill (H.R. 4823) to repeal the sunset of the Economic 
     Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 with respect 
     to the exclusion from Federal income tax for restitution 
     received by victims of the Nazi Regime.

  The ACTING PRESIDENT pro tempore. Objection having been heard, the 
bills will be placed on the calendar.
